Case Study - Shirt Monkey

Established in 2013, Shirt Monkey specialises in manufacturing printed garments for a diverse range of businesses and individuals. In recent years, their production capacity has surged from 50-100 units per day to over 25,000 units per week.

Referred to Propel by Barclays business banking, Shirt Monkey has received finance totalling a region of £1.7m which has enabled the expansion and upgrade of a variety of assets to support their DTG printing business. This funding has significantly boosted Shirt Monkey's ability to meet the rapidly growing request for their services.

Since its inception, Shirt Monkey has achieved consistent double-digit growth, necessitating six warehouse relocations to accommodate its expanding operations. Thanks to Propel’s support, Shirt Monkey has acquired a range of high-volume, on-demand printer fleet, significantly increasing production output to meet the high demand from various online retailers.

“The introduction from Barclays to Propel was great because Propel came to have a look at the business, got fascinated by what we were doing and really became a working partner with us. We’ve grown with Propel since then, and we’ve got three machines on lease with them at the moment, and there is going to be more.”
