Case Study - Furniturebox

Launched in 2015, Furniturebox is an online retailer that specialises in stylish and affordable home furnishings. With a diverse range of products - from contemporary sofas to practical storage solutions - this rapidly growing brand is dedicated to transforming living spaces while delivering exceptional value and service to modern households.

Referred to Propel by Barclays Business Banking, Furniturebox sought a finance package totalling £2 million to acquire a variety of business-critical assets, including racking systems, sprinklers, and forklifts. These assets were essential for a customised fit-out at their new state-of-the-art headquarters. Propel’s willingness to finance all the necessary assets significantly simplified the process for Furniturebox, eliminating the hassle of dealing with multiple lenders.

This funding was particularly crucial as Furniturebox had outgrown its previous warehouse, driving the need to relocate to an 88,000-square-foot facility. This move has significantly contributed to the company's remarkable growth.

“We were very impressed with the way Propel worked; and the team as well were very personable towards us which really helped. Propel were really understanding in being able to finance everything, from the racking through to conventional forklifts, which really made that difference for us.”
