Case Study - Chillistick

Founded in 2011, Chillistick is the UK's Leading Dry Ice Manufacturer & Supplier. With over a decade of dedicated manufacturing experience, their roots in chemical engineering ensure that they lead the industry with unparalleled expertise.

Referred to Propel by Barclays Business Banking, Chillistick has received over £600k in asset finance from Propel since 2021, bolstering the business’s plans for further expansion across the UK. Using the capital provided, Chillistick has purchased a range of assets such as a walk-in freezer, several pelletizers, a gas recovery unit —all of which are essential for expanding their operations and providing environmentally sustainable methods of cooling various goods and products.

Recently, the business has rapidly grown from manufacturing their signature ‘Chillistick’ dry ice cubes in Basingstoke, Hampshire to becoming one of the largest dry ice suppliers in the UK: sourcing dry ice for industries such as medical businesses, schools, as well as spearheading collaborations with major UK bars & restaurants chains.

We went to our Bank, Barclays, and they suggested asset finance. Then we were introduced to Propel, and lo and behold, Propel was the way forward! We’d outgrown our warehouse; and went into another premises. Asset finance came to rescue, as the assets were leveraged through the use of Propel.”
